The duration of an engagement depends on many factors, such as complexity of the business, data/documents availability, etc. However, under a normal circumstances, in general, for medium-sized company, we need around 4-8 weeks to finalize an audit in first-year engagement. The duration is usually shorter for the following years engagements. As for the tax and accounting services, the duration depends on the complexity of the problems, data/documents availablity, and resources availability.

The fee of an engagement depends on many factors, such as audit risk, business complexity, deadline determined by client, etc. Before proposing the amount of fee, we usually conducting a survey (e.g. company visity or phone discussion) to understand the audit risk, time needed, and resources needed. In the survey, we normally request for the financial statements and ask few questions, such as the objective of audit, nature of business, etc. A survey usually only takes 30 minutes to 1 hour.
